Released in October 2021, their debut album “Pavlova” explores themes of love, long-distance, and relationships. In early September, Kimaya left Canada for Ireland and Sadie was brought on to sing lead vocals. As live shows began to return to Ontario, Hinterwood played at MacKinnon Brother’s “Back to the Farm” music festival in Bath, Ontario, as well as at The General Wolfe on Wolfe Island and Musiikki Café in Kingston. Throughout the first half of 2021, Hinterwood refined and perfected their album, entering the summer with two singles: “Wanderlust” and “Remedy”. After being confined to zoom calls and sending song ideas back and forth electronically, Hinterwood recorded their debut full-length album in November 2020 at The Grand Theatre in Kingston, On. As the Covid-19 pandemic set in, Hinterwood began recording, releasing singles “Whiplash” and “Flamingo” before their debut self-titled EP in November 2020. In late 2019, they added Kimaya (Vocals) and in early 2020 Josiah (Bass). Hinterwood was formed in 2018 by Jonah (Drums), Max (Guitar) and a few of their friends, who were looking to jam and write music together. Max (guitar), Jonah (drums), Sadie (vocals), Adam (guitar) and Josiah (bass) bring an energetic live show, playing upbeat rock n’ roll for driving with the windows down and dancing your heart out. Between lockdowns, they released their self-titled EP in November 2020 and recorded their debut album, Pavlova, which was released in October 2021. Formed in 2018, Hinterwood began releasing singles “Whiplash” and “Flamingo” through the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hinterwood is an indie rock band from Kingston, Ontario.
